Non-Exempt Job Description
Typical business hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday; some overtime may be required. This is a starting position for the sales force. You should be willing to work closely with others as part of a team focused on promoting company growth and servicing customers, as you will be their main point of contact. Loan Officers can structure their work hours around their client base's time zone or peak hours for sales calls. Self-management of time is expected. This is a non-exempt position. Purpose
Loan Officers serve as the main contact point for Borrowers and Retail Operations during the loan origination process. They are expected to generate their own client base or work with leads provided by Bank of England Mortgage. Staying informed about new loan types and financial products helps meet customer needs. They must meet or exceed weekly/monthly production goals and communicate regularly with management regarding their performance. Maintaining compliance, meeting deadlines, and providing high customer service are essential. Essential Functions/Duties
Meet with applicants to gather information and answer questions; input data into Encompass System. Obtain and review credit histories, financial statements, and other relevant information; prepare mortgage loan files. Submit applications for verification and recommendation; analyze financial and property data to assess eligibility. Facilitate the application process by coordinating with borrowers and internal teams. Explain loan options and terms to customers. Consult with Underwriters to resolve application issues. Work closely with processors, closers, and underwriters; coordinate closing appointments. Ensure compliance with RESPA, Regulation Z, Fair Lending, HMDA, BSA, and other regulations. Review and approve loans within limits; escalate outside limits for management approval. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues. Market loan products and promote services to meet customer needs. Comply with industry regulations and protect company reputation and confidentiality. Participate in regular meetings and follow up on leads through cold calling and self-sourcing. Manage application processes, gather documentation, and follow up with customers during and after processing. Demonstrate integrity, accountability, communication skills, organizational skills, and self-motivation in serving clients. Position Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; college preferred; degree desired. Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and mortgage software; Encompass experience is a plus. At least one year of recent mortgage loan experience. Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to adapt to changing demands. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with Encompass preferred. Strong verbal and listening communication skills; effective problem-solving and time management skills.
