Non-Exempt Job Description
Typical business hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, with some overtime may be required. This is a starting position for the sales force; you are expected to work closely with others as part of a team focused on promoting company growth and servicing customers, as you will be their main point of contact. Loan Officers can structure their time to work around client time zones or peak hours for sales calls. Self-management of time is expected. Purpose: Loan Officers serve as the main contact point for Borrowers and Retail Operations during the loan origination process. They are expected to generate their own client base or work with leads provided by Bank of England Mortgage. Staying informed about new loan types and financial products is essential to meet customer needs. They must meet or exceed weekly/monthly production goals, communicate regularly with their manager, meet deadlines, ensure compliance, and resolve issues while maintaining high customer service standards. Essential Functions/Duties:
Market and promote company initiatives via outbound calls, emails, mail, networking, advertising, and other means to generate interest from potential clients. Develop a pipeline of prospective clients by identifying decision-makers and setting up meetings, presenting tailored pitches. Build rapport with clients, provide ongoing support, and develop customer relationships by offering new solutions and services. Handle objections effectively, using various persuasive styles. Maintain and develop client accounts through follow-up and accurate record-keeping. Engage in business development within real estate and construction sectors, focusing on pipeline growth, networking, negotiating, and closing deals. Collaborate with internal teams to meet client needs. Participate in industry events to identify opportunities and generate leads. Assist applicants with loan applications, gather documentation, and input data into the system. Review financial and credit information, prepare mortgage files, and resolve application issues. Coordinate with credit analysts, underwriters, processors, and closers to facilitate the loan process. Explain loan options and terms to customers, handle complaints, and ensure compliance with regulations. Review and approve loans within limits, update files, and ensure accuracy. Attend meetings and maintain high standards of integrity, customer service, and confidentiality. Meet or exceed production goals, demonstrate organizational skills, and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED; college preferred; degree desired. Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and mortgage software; Encompass experience preferred. At least three years of recent experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer in banking. Excellent customer service, communication, and control skills. Proficiency in Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Strong verbal and listening communication skills, assertiveness, perseverance, and results orientation. Effective problem-solving, planning, and time management skills.
