Staff Accountant Onsite

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data, compliance with accounting standards, and supports internal and external audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Main Responsibilities: · Assist AP with billing, receivables, payables, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger functions. · Produce monthly financial statements including balance sheet, profit/loss statements using QuickBooks Online · Complete and present financial analysis on relevant financial statements · Reconcile bank and investment accounts and prepare related journal entries · Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis · Review reconciliations to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items · Prepare monthly closing general ledger entries · Manage filing of tax forms including 1099s, IRS pension report · Oversee, in conjunction with independent auditor, preparation of annual audit · Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance and Operations Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy • Advanced computer skills • QuickBooks Online experience is a plus • Proven knowledge of GAAP practices, standards, laws and regulations • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team • Self-starter Experience: • 2+ years in an accounting/bookkeeping role • Experience in book-keeping and financial accounting • Full cycle accounting
