MMIS Business Analyst, Columbia, SC Responsibilities

Serve as the liaison between business units and IT to deliver technical solutions for Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) Modernization. Analyze business processes, identify opportunities for automation, and document redesign needs for new technology implementations. Translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications and manage specification changes through project lifecycle. Educate IT teams on business objectives, goals, and directions to ensure alignment with agency needs. Facilitate and negotiate agreements between business users and IT, from requirements gathering to final implementation. Lead and participate in business process analysis, business design sessions, and performance assessments for assigned modules and projects. Mentor and train team members to ensure delivery of high-quality business solutions that align with project strategy. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, proactively addressing specific business needs and concerns. Drive efficient configuration and integration of core MES modules through dynamic discussion and cross-functional collaboration. Coordinate resources, priorities, and project deliverables across multiple, simultaneous initiatives. Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings, operational meetings, and issue resolution sessions. Track and report on key performance indicators to monitor project progress toward business integration goals. Advocate for business integration and support modular, scalable solution delivery in alignment with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) principles. Ensure project deliverables connect to operational principles and agency strategy. Maintain attention to detail, professional communication, and a collaborative team environment. Required Qualifications

5+ years experience as Business Analyst/Lead on Government IT MMIS projects. 7 years experience in commercial healthcare. 6 years experience in eliciting, mining, and documenting business requirements. Experience with CMS Federal Certification, State Medicaid payer system integration, and MITA business architecture. Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Preferred Skills

Experience in project management, MMIS operations, data structures, and EDI. Strong written and oral communication skills across all organizational levels. Ability to work effectively in a diverse, professional office environment. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects. Other Requirements

Must be a current SC resident (no relocations). Must pass pre-employment checks (criminal, E-verify, credit, confidentiality). Hybrid work schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. Seniority level
