Cloud Efficiency and Analytics is part of Datadogs internal infrastructure team, responsible for all cloud cost-related matters. This position is within Data Projects, a specialized group focused on high-leverage research and initiatives related to infrastructure spend, including modeling costs, leveraging cloud discounts, and optimizing spend through observability and orchestration data. You will
Work with the Cloud Efficiency and Analytics team and company leaders to drive projects and guide investments using quantitative analysis. Learn about monitoring billions of containers across multi-cloud environments and how that relates to infrastructure costs. Use spreadsheets, Spark jobs, and ML algorithms to analyze data and identify trends. Build and validate models against real-world data. Iterate on complex problems by breaking them into manageable steps. Collaborate with engineering leadership and teams across Datadog. You are
Detail-oriented and committed to completing work thoroughly. Ownership-driven, developing domain expertise and contributing beyond your immediate tasks. Experienced in Python and SQL. Comfortable with ambiguity, able to start working on large problems with limited initial clarity. Knowledgeable about major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their offerings. Interested in optimization, especially regarding costs. Excellent communicator with experience collaborating across teams. Experienced in data science, visualization, and statistics. Capable of contributing in areas like financial analysis, cloud billing, infrastructure analysis, or data engineering/science. Possess a BS/MS/PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
