Join Nationwide as a Territory Manager in Small Market Commercial Lines to lead profitable small commercial growth in the designated territory by developing and managing assigned agencies. Drive results through profitable quote flow and collaborate with personal lines and middle market sales and underwriting teams. Key Responsibilities

Monitors market conditions and competitive landscape to identify small commercial growth opportunities for the agencies; reviews and assesses agency strengths and growth opportunities. Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten; reviews agency books of business, profit/growth results, and trends to recommend and implement action plans. Communicates with agencies to establish Nationwide as the provider of choice for the territory, with emphasis on commercial lines; shares product changes, company objectives, market intelligence, and underwriting experience. Manages small market commercial production, profit and service objectives within the territory; drives agency business planning with detailed performance plans and checkpoints; maximizes profit and pipeline management. Collaborates with agents and internal partners to develop business solutions, negotiates pricing within authority, and provides industry trend observations to leadership. Recommends appointment or termination of agencies based on results; ensures compliance with practices and policies; influences agency alignment and deployment. Cultivates relationships to enhance value to agencies and Nationwide; maintains a visible presence to network. Consults with agents on customer service expectations and helps resolve issues; coordinates internal support for service needs. Ensures tools, training, and support are in place to enable agency and territory success; identifies training needs and participates in orientation meetings with Sales/Marketing partners. Reviews existing and potential accounts with agents; partners with underwriting leadership; uses pricing knowledge within authority to adjust pricing. Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications

Education:

Undergraduate studies in general business, insurance, sales, marketing or related fields. Undergraduate degree preferred. License/Certification/Designation:

Relevant professional designation such as CPCU or CIC preferred. Experience:

Seven years of progressively responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial business preferred; expertise in markets aligned with underwriting appetite and product portfolio preferred. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Thorough knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverage for small market business; strong interpersonal and sales skills; ability to build internal and external partnerships; sound judgment within authority; strong drive for results; proficiency in communication, planning, and presenting.
