Clinton Public Schools is seeking a full-time, grant-funded program director for the REDS365 program. The purpose of REDS365 is to provide services & activities that help students improve in academics, attendance, behavior, promotion rates, & graduation rates.
Primary Responsibility
The REDS365 Program Director is directly responsible for overseeing program operations for the district's 21st Century Community Learning Center-funded after-school program site. The primary areas of focus will be the coordination of program development & implementation, program scheduling, staff development, & data management for the grant. The Director will also coordinate with the site principals for the 21st CCLC sites to ensure all grant requirements and objectives are met.
The director will work approximately 6-8 hours per day to accomplish the responsibilities of the position. The typical schedule for the position will be from 10:00-6:30 M-Th and 8:00-3:30 on Friday during the school year and 8:00-4:00 M-F during the summer. The director will be compensated $30 per hour for 200 days per year. This is a year-round position contingent upon continued grant funding.
General Responsibilities
Attend all required state-level meetings for 21st Century Community Learning Center programs. Establish school-based, out-of-school time centers that strive to improve student academics, attendance, behavior, & promotion & graduation rates. Plan, develop, implement & evaluate overall programs, services & activities to ensure they meet state objectives & the needs & interests of students. Establish & implement policies & procedures that fulfill all federal & state requirements for the 21st CCLC programs. Collect & report student data & information to meet grant reporting requirements. Allocate center expenditures in keeping with the grant budget & requirements. Hire staff based on the approved grant, & help to recruit & negotiate with community-based organizations & volunteers for the program. Provide direct & indirect supervision of staff. Develop & maintain partnerships with parents, community leaders & organizations, & school-based staff, & promote the programs, services & activities within the community. Maintain daily contact with program & administrative staff. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Degree (Associate's required, Bachelor's preferred) Experience working with children. Experience working in a school or community-based out-of-school time organization Knowledge of afterschool programs, the local community, & effective management techniques Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences Ability to perform all tasks identified in this job description Valid driver's license Good physical condition with the ability to lift 10 pounds
