Overview We are seeking an experienced and solutions-focused Accountant to lead the accounting and financial operations of a private family office. This role oversees accounting, financial reporting, and accounts payable across a variety of entities—including personal accounts, trusts, and investment vehicles. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex ownership structures. A solid foundation in accounting principles and financial operations is essential, along with the initiative to improve, create, and streamline processes that elevate the efficiency and effectiveness of the family office. The role also includes supporting broader functions such as tax planning coordination, trust administration, and investment oversight. Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting and financial operations across personal, trust, and investment entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and appropriate internal controls. Manage payables and cash movement across entities, with emphasis on timely execution, accuracy, and streamlined documentation. Prepare and enhance financial reporting for personal accounts and investments, delivering timely, actionable insights and supporting liquidity planning, capital tracking, and performance analysis. Reconcile capital accounts and monitor contributions, distributions, and ownership activity across trusts, Series LLC, and other complex structures. Maintain integrated accounting workflows across QBO, Addepar, eMoney, and BILL, ensuring data accuracy and system alignment across all entities. Collaborate with CPAs and tax advisors to support quarterly estimates, annual filings, and related compliance documentation. Support trust and estate administration, ensuring accurate implementation and recordkeeping across related structures. Coordinate insurance schedules and ensure appropriate risk coverage is in place across all personal and entity holdings. Maintain and continuously refine SOPs for accounting, bill pay and reporting to drive process consistency and operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance; CPA designation valued. Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a family office, private wealth, or multi-entity environment. Proficiency in QBO, Addepar, BILL, and eMoney is strongly preferred. Solid understanding of trust, LLC, and partnership structures. Highly organized, discreet, and proactive, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive financial matters. Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with legal, tax, and investment professionals.
