Maintenance Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA

ELMHS is looking for a motivated individual to join the Maintenance department as an Electrician with knowledge in the installation and maintenance of wiring systems, switches, receptacles, and lighting.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience or training in the electrical trade.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Compensation: This position is eligible for a $2.00 Weekday On-Call pay and a $2.10 Weekend/Holiday On-Call pay.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance of wiring systems, switches, receptacles and lighting.
  • Assist in the rewiring of staff residences, run additional circuits when necessary.
  • Pull electrical wire, run conduit, install ceiling fans, range vent hoods, restroom exhaust fans.
  • Install generators and transformers and transfer switches.
  • Perform preventive maintenance rounds on all buildings checking for loose wires and proper receptacle condition.
  • Check electrical cord outlet devices.
  • Maintain records on lock out tag out.
  • Maintain a valid, unencumbered driver’s license.
