Job Summary: The Production Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of manufacturing operations by effectively planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules, managing material requirements, and ensuring timely availability of resources to meet customer demands. The Production Planner serves as a liaison between the production floor, warehouse, quality control, and customer service to ensure orders are completed on time and in full. Key Responsibilities:

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure timely procurement of materials for upcoming jobs.

Review incoming materials and confirm that purchase orders are generated for any required stock or job-specific materials.

Track all jobs awaiting material availability, including oversight of purchase orders for inbound supply monitoring.

Work closely with warehouse staff and quality control (QC) to confirm timely and compliant material pulls for production jobs.

Coordinate interplant material transfers in partnership with the Senior Warehouse Clerk as needed.

Attend and participate in daily production meetings, and serve as a lead contributor or facilitator as needed.

Communicate any delays, shortages, or issues impacting the production schedule.

Provide accurate and timely updates to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and the sales team regarding order status, timing, and any changes.

Adjust order dates and job scheduling in response to asset availability or production capacity constraints.

Build, manage, and track the coating schedule, ensuring alignment of materials for live (customer) orders and stock materials to maintain adequate inventory levels for recurring needs.

Monitor and ensure timely release of blanket orders to meet ongoing demand and due dates.

Regularly assess the material pull queue and production readiness to prevent delays or downtime.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.

Maintain accurate production records and schedules to support reporting and operational planning.

Qualifications:

High school education or equivalent work experience required

1–3 years of experience in a production capacity

Skills & Competencies:

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Effective communicator, able to collaborate across departments

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and planning software

Understanding of BOMs, job travelers, and materials management

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing demands
