FOOD: Lakeside Food Distribution

Support MAAC's monthly assembly line style food distribution. As a volunteer you will help pack boxes of food for walk-up distribution. You will need to bend and pick up canned food, bagged food like rice and beans, and frozen food, like chicken or turkeys. Volunteers may also be asked to help with set up and breakdown of the event. This monthly food distribution helps more than 1,400 individuals in the community each month! Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Key Responsibilities: Pack boxes of food Set up and breakdown of event Skills & Qualifications: No prior experience needed Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks Able to lift up to 15 lbs and bend occasionally Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor setting Must wear a face mask and follow food safety guidelines Training Provided: On-site training provided at the beginning of the shift Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing (wearing layers is recommended) Bring: Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and a face mask Physical Requirements: Bending, lifting up to 15lbs (rare need) standing for several hours Weather: Project is not canceled for rain. All food stations are covered by pop-up tents Photos: Photos of clients are not allowed.
