You will serve as a senior staff expert in specialized areas such as Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Inverter Based Resources (IBR), particularly related to Transmission system modeling and planning studies. Oversee engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and review grid technologies; facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer Lead preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies Assist in engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations Support new equipment installation and startup, then lead handover to ramp and sustaining phases Lead junior engineers in investigating threats on the distribution system infrastructure Gather and correlate data using engineering studies and procedures, including routine and diagnostic testing Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members Ensure protection of physical, financial and cybersecurity assets and properly access and manage sensitive information with high standards of conduct Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field Seven or more years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments Valid Class C Driver's License Preferred Qualifications

Engineering experience modeling and analyzing SCE’s Transmission system (typically 220 kV and 500 kV) Familiarity with industry committees and groups related to transmission planning (NERC, WECC) Experience using GE PSLF and/or PowerWorld or similar software Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively Additional Information

Hybrid work mode: report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with remote option; California residency required Refer to the Candidate Resource page for benefits, hiring process, and related information Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered under applicable laws Travel up to 10% within the SCE service territory This position is identified as NERC/CIP impacted; candidate must pass PRA or background check and complete required training before unescorted access Relocation is not required About Southern California Edison
