Overview
The Engineer is responsible for the effective upkeep of all engineering and maintenance operations. This person performs routine property and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, and assist in ensuring the safety of guests and associates in compliance with all corporate and brand standards and all federal, state and local laws. This role is for the second shift.
Responsibilities
Maintains, repairs, and conducts preventative maintenance on material handling and building equipment in safe and efficient manner.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/Refrigeration systems
Work as a team member with operations and other technicians to support the facility in the repair and maintenance of equipment
Attention to detail and focus on safety will be critical
Provide a positive customer experience by providing clear expectations, communication, and addressing the hotel and hotel guests needs
Ensure the efficient use of materials and parts in inventory
Time management is essential - Must be able to adhere to committed time schedules
Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious
Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates)
While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions
Qualifications
Priority will be given to candidates with 1+ years of refrigerator/sealed system experience
HVAC, RETA, CARO, or CIRO certifications a plus!
Must be highly organized, able to multitask and prioritize
Must have 1 - 2 years of experience in a commercial building or hotel
Ability to manage one’s time and duties independently
Problem solver and proactive
Dependable and reliable
Hospitality experience
Experienced in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Drywall/Paint, IT/BAS, electric locking systems, building automation systems
Must be able to perform under pressure
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
