About Us

Square Peg Marketing & Branding is a Kansas City–based creative agency and a two-time winner of The Pitch’s “Best Advertising/Marketing Agency in Kansas City” (2023 & 2024). We’re also honored to be nominated again in 2025 for that title, along with a current nomination for Best Place to Work. We partner with a wide variety of clients, including well-known local restaurants, to deliver smart, creative marketing that drives results. Our team is highly collaborative, fast-moving, and passionate about helping our clients stand out. Application Requirement

To be considered, applicants must provide authentic, recent examples of their social media expertise — either through live accounts they actively manage or a personal portfolio of original work. We’re looking for genuine creativity, strategic execution, and trend awareness. AI-generated samples will not be accepted. About the Role

We’re seeking a Social Media Specialist to join our team immediately. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and is comfortable juggling multiple industries and client accounts. You’ll be responsible for executing content strategies, managing digital profiles, and staying on the pulse of trends to create scroll-stopping content. Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day social media activity for multiple client accounts (restaurants, retail, professional services, healthcare, etc.). Plan, schedule, and publish content calendars aligned with client marketing strategies. Capture and edit content (photo/video) on-site at client locations for both real-time and planned posting. Create, implement, and manage social media campaigns across major platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok). Write compelling copy, captions, and hashtags tailored to each client’s brand voice. Manage Google Business Profiles and other ratings platforms — update content, respond to reviews, monitor presence. Monitor performance analytics, prepare reports, and recommend optimizations. Track social media and digital marketing trends to keep content fresh and competitive. Collaborate with our creative team on broader campaigns, branding, photography, and videography. Assist with occasional paid social campaigns (bonus if you’ve managed budgets before). What We’re Looking For

Minimum 3 years’ experience managing multiple social media accounts, preferably in an agency setting. Proven ability to tailor strategies across diverse industries. Skilled at both capturing and editing content for social media. Positive, high-energy mindset with a passion for idea generation, forward-thinking strategies, and extreme collaboration. Proficient in major social media platforms and scheduling/analytics tools (e.g., Sprout, Buffer, Hootsuite, Loomly). We currently use Loomly. Strong copywriting and communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven. Creative, adaptable, and always up to speed with trends. Familiarity with Google Business Profiles and digital reputation management is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred. Location Requirement

This is a primarily on-site role in Kansas City, MO (approximately 80% on-site; 20% remote flexibility). Please do not apply if you are not currently in the Kansas City area or immediately available to relocate. Remote-only applicants will not be considered. Compensation & Perks

Pay commensurate with experience. Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. Generous Paid-Time-Off (PTO) package. Strong potential for growth within the agency. Collaborative, creative team environment. Opportunities for professional development (training, workshops, industry conferences). How to Apply

Please submit your résumé, cover letter, and a portfolio or links to live accounts that demonstrate your social media expertise. Applications without authentic work samples will not be considered.
