About the Role
The company is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Senior Vice President of Development to spearhead its global initiatives in securing vital philanthropic support aimed at transforming the food system. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing a robust and sustainable development program focused on achieving ambitious fundraising goals.
As the leader of a diverse team involved in major and principal gifts, donor services, and institutional giving, you will bring a proven track record in philanthropic strategy, major gift solicitation, and effective team management. Your role will involve building and nurturing strong relationships with a wide array of donors and stakeholders, while collaborating closely with the organization’s leadership to cultivate and steward transformational gifts.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years in development leadership, with at least 5 years in a strategic fundraising role. A demonstrated history of successfully securing major gifts and managing high-performing teams is crucial. A heartfelt commitment to the mission and values of our organization is vital, along with a leadership style that is resilient, optimistic, and inspiring.
Excellent communication skills, a coaching-oriented management approach, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, global environment are essential for this position. Experience in fostering an inclusive and people-centered culture alongside background knowledge in areas such as plant-based alternatives, public health, environmentalism, climate change, animal protection, or hunger relief will be highly beneficial.
