About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development with a focus on major gifts and planned giving. The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for growing and managing a robust major gifts and planned giving program. This role involves developing and executing strategies to increase philanthropic revenue, particularly in the areas of major and legacy giving, and contributing to the organization's overall fundraising strategy. The Vice President will work closely with the CEO, board members, and program leaders to build long-term donor relationships, drive revenue growth, and advance the organization's impact in the community.

Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Development include leading and growing the major gifts and planned giving programs, overseeing donor communications, and maintaining up-to-date donor data to demonstrate fundraising success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in closing significant gifts, a strategic mindset, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A deep knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape and a passion for the organization's mission are essential. The role requires a candidate with at least 8 years' of experience in fundraising, a strong record in major gifts and planned giving, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and the candidate should be able to represent the organization as a compelling ambassador of its mission.
