Primary Purpose
The position is responsible for supporting the Districts goals for building public trust through effective communication. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in social media and web content management.
Video production and editing skills.
Computer proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web application software and proficiencies and ease in learning new programs
Basic photography experience required.
Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, capacity to recognize when immediate action is required and when additional information is needed
Ability to work independently, manage multiple and competing deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and creatively solve problems and resolve conflicts
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in working in print communications, electronic communications, and broadcast communications.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Conceptualize and implement communication strategies to best promote the district, its campuses, and students utilizing all available media.
Manage the districts website content, social media content, and electronic news content to ensure timeliness in communicating pertinent information with the public with a keen focus on quality and accurateness.
Conceptualize and implement communication strategies to best promote the district, its campuses, and students utilizing video, graphic, and animation tools.
Develop, implement and monitor the effectiveness of a content and production calendar for the department.
Manage the campus websites to ensure content is reflective a quality brand.
Facilitate media requests for information and interviews.
Serve as the district spokesperson, as needed.
Track media coverage of the Clear Creek Independent School District.
Research, write, edit, proofread, and produce internal and external communication materials, including press releases, feature stories, e-newsletters, brochures, reports, video scripts, web site content, letters, social media content, and special publications for distribution that align with District and departmental goals.
Collaborate with department leaders, staff, and District communications team members to plan, develop, and implement department communication strategies that strengthen the departments communication.
Take photographs for the web, for digital mediums, for print publications, and for presentations.
Serve as a key member of the Communications Crisis Team
Plan and execute department events and recognitions aligned with the Districts recognition expectations program.
Collaborate with team members to determine the most effective way to reach target audience.
Deploy initiatives that contribute to the successful fulfillment of communications plans.

Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
