Sr. UX Designer

Our client has an immediate need for a Sr. UX Designer to work with a top client in the travel and tourism industry. This is a hybrid onsite contract: 2-3 days per week on-site collaboration with client teams and users is expected in Seattle, WA or Austin, TX. (4-5 months, with a possibility of extension; 40 hours per week preferred, but open to those who might have 3 or 4 days available per week.) The Sr. UX Designer will play a key role in creating inclusive, delightful customer experiences by blending strategy, research, systems thinking, and craft. They will lead design for complex systems and features, advocate for user needs and business outcomes, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners. This role supports experiences across multiple consumer brands within our client's portfolio. Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end design for a product area, shaping information architecture, user flows, interaction patterns, research and visual design. Translate research insights, business goals, and technical constraints into clear, accessible, and engaging solutions. Produce design deliverables at the appropriate fidelity, including journey maps, flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. Plan and contribute to usability testing and other evaluative research; iterate based on findings and metrics. Contribute to and evolve the client's design system, advocating for consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across platforms. Collaborate daily with product managers, engineers, researchers, data scientists, content designers, and other partners to define problems, scope work, and deliver high quality outcomes. Present work clearly to diverse audiences, incorporate feedback, and build alignment. Identify opportunities to improve existing experiences and processes, leveraging emerging technologies and design trends where appropriate. Required: Strong storytelling abilities Experience conducting workshops Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) and an understanding of front-end development fundamentals. Experience working within a product organization across the full lifecycle, from discovery and definition through launch and iteration. Strong interaction design, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills grounded in human centered design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain rationale and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Comfortable collaborating in cross functional, agile teams and giving/receiving constructive feedback. Ability to work on-site with client in either Seattle or Austin Preferred experience: Background designing pricing, revenue, subscription, and/or membership or loyalty experiences. Experience contributing to large, multi-brand ecosystems and shared design systems. This is a 40 hour a week, freelance opportunity slated to last 4-5 months with an extension possible after 1/19/26. In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
