Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the Energy industry. This is a permanent position that offers a pivotal role in the accounting department. The successful candidate will manage financial activities, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide financial advice and support to the business. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and seeks to advance their career.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Review and process construction invoices, change orders, retainage, and progress billings.
  • Conduct cost allocation, fixed assets, debt, and derivatives accounting.
  • Responsible for oil and gas accounting, including revenue recognition, joint interest billing, and lease operating expenses.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial transparency, and drive business performance.
  • Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with 1 to 3 years in public accounting or public company experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in the energy industry, specifically oil and gas, is required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • Proficient in cost allocation, fixed assets, debt, and derivatives accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a high-paced work environment.
