Location: El Segundo, CA. The
5 Axis Machine Programmer
will review customer blueprints and CAD models, design/create CNC programs and optimize the CNC machine manufacturing process by programming high speed 5 Axis Milling Machines. Responsibilities
Coordinates with the estimating department by calculating cost analysis of programming time, machining set-up time, and machining production operations. Creates project programs with extreme efficiency in accordance with the estimated project allowances by utilizing
GibbsCam or MasterCam . Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machinery work. Maintains accuracy and tolerance specifications of projects and adheres to quality assurance procedures. Evaluates manufacturing processes flow of short and long-run orders, including routing of the job through production cells, outside processes, and in-process and final inspection. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods with creative thinking. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow and proper machine allocation. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating needed actions, addressing any irregularities, and ensuring continuity of quality. Communicates and works well with employees. Qualifications
Advanced Blueprint reading abilities. Demonstrated understanding of 3, 4 & 5 Axis machining, materials, special processes, and tolerances. Advanced knowledge of programming with GibbsCam, MasterCam, and VeriCut. Have good communication skills, be attentive to details, and possess sound judgment. Experience history of machining parts from Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, Inconel, and Tool Steel. Experience Required
A minimum of 5 years of programming experience in the manufacturing of CNC machined metal parts for the defense and aerospace industry. Knowledge and experience in machining a variety of materials. Mental Demands Required
Ability to perform well under pressure, while treating others with respect and consideration. Accept responsibility for own actions; follow through on commitments. Ability to deal with frequent changes or delays. Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion; problem solving. Additional Information
Permanent Role Rate: Up to $45 per hour
