Catbird is an independent hotel in RiNo that blends hotel and home, offering adaptable spaces for guests and community. The hotel has 165 rooms with flexible furniture, a rooftop with an indoor/outdoor bar and event spaces, and amenities designed for comfort, work, and leisure.

The property includes additional meeting rooms and programmed spaces to support guest experiences. Job Overview The Area Marketing Manager drives the strategy and execution of marketing initiatives across a portfolio of hotels. This role oversees the development, implementation, and management of digital and traditional marketing programs, including websites, social media, SEO, content creation, public relations, and partnerships. Collaborating closely with property teams and external digital agencies, the Area Marketing Manager ensures campaigns align with brand standards, deliver measurable results, and maximize revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic marketer with a passion for storytelling, brand building, and hospitality. This role shapes each hotel's identity through positioning, campaigns, and cohesive online and offline content that enhances visibility and drives demand. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Social Media Develop and execute a social media strategy that supports each property, with oversight from the DOSM and guidance from the Corporate Sr. Director of Social.

Strong understanding of best practices across major social platforms, tailored for hotels, restaurants, and hospitality brands.

Create professional, relevant, and on-brand content across all channels.

Strategically plan and implement campaigns that build brand awareness and support sales and marketing goals.

Set measurable goals and benchmarks for social media performance and create actionable plans to achieve them.

Engage with guests and respond to comments in a timely, professional manner, including crisis response when needed.

Be competent in or willing to learn social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social).

Public Relations Assist DOSM with planning and executing PR-worthy activations, programming, amenities, and packages.

Support communication with PR agencies, including coordinating media visits once approved by DOSM.

Collaborate with DOSM and PR agencies to create and execute property initiatives that reinforce brand identity and positioning.

Utilize agency reports and third-party insights to inform PR content and strategies.

Branding Apply branding guidelines to ensure property identity is communicated consistently.

Assist properties with marketing materials in collaboration with staff and agencies.

Maintain and organize media libraries and electronic files by property and activity.

Digital Marketing Understand digital marketing tactics and evaluate performance across SEO, PPC, display advertising, social advertising, and website content.

Review, provide feedback, and approve all website content to ensure SEO best practices; provide digital vendors with content ideas and assets.

Review and approve paid advertising copy and creatives.

Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Revenue Management on packages and offers; communicate with digital vendors for promotion.

Manage online brand presence, ensuring brand pillars and messaging are integrated across websites and campaigns.

Leverage corporate resources and industry best practices.

CRM Create and manage ongoing email marketing campaigns in partnership with the corporate CRM team.

Use reports from agencies, brands, and Google Analytics to optimize content and campaigns.

Partnerships & Programming Source, develop, and manage marketing initiatives that activate hotel spaces and F&B outlets, including on-site programming and partnerships.

Collaborate with property teams to design experiences that drive guest engagement and incremental revenue.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training A four year college degree or equivalent education/experience. Experience Minimum 2-4 years in a marketing role; hospitality experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Ability to read and prepare contracts and proposals with attention to detail

Ability to negotiate effectively

Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Professional appearance and manner

Computer literacy, MS Word for Windows
