Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Material Planner to join their growing Supply Chain team. This critical role ensures the uninterrupted flow of raw materials and components needed to support a fast-paced production environment. As the bridge between suppliers and production operations, you'll play a vital part in keeping schedules on track, inventory aligned, and customer commitments met. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Material Planner will partner closely with production, logistics, engineering, inventory control, quality, and procurement teams to support on-time manufacturing and shipment goals. Responsibilities: Manage material availability to support production schedules and ensure on-time delivery to customers Collaborate with production schedulers and manufacturing teams to align material supply with daily needs Maintain proactive communication with suppliers regarding demand forecasts, delivery timelines, and order adjustments Use Oracle MRP (or similar system) to plan material requirements and release purchase orders Confirm purchase order acknowledgments and monitor timely shipment and advanced shipping notices (ASNs) Address MRP exceptions and adjust purchase orders as needed to avoid supply interruptions Escalate supply chain risks and work with suppliers to expedite shipments when necessary Optimize supplier inventory levels to meet target metrics while minimizing excess stock Maintain item master data and bill of materials accuracy, including lead times, safety stock, min/max levels, and order quantities Coordinate with inbound logistics, warehouse, and inventory control teams to ensure proper handling and storage of materials Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining materials planning and supply chain operations Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred 2+ years of experience in a material planning or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment Proficiency with MRP systems such as Oracle or equivalent ERP software Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset Preferences: Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setting Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies Understanding of global supply chain dynamics and international logistics Background working with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives Titles Encouraged to Apply: Supply Chain Planner Production Planner Inventory Analyst Procurement Planner Materials Coordinator Logistics Planner Buyer/Planner
