Summary:
The Eviction Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to attorneys, landlords, and property managers involved in landlord-tenant disputes, particularly eviction proceedings. This role involves
preparing legal documents
such as notices to vacate, complaints, and summonses; filing documents with the court; managing case files; and tracking court deadlines. The Eviction Paralegal may also communicate with tenants, court personnel, per diem attorneys, and process servers, and assist attorneys during court proceedings. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant laws, court procedures, and
attention to detail
is essential. This position requires excellent
organizational skills , the ability to work under pressure and demanding timelines, and a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Duties:
Filing cases in eCourts: Prepare and file lawsuits, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents using online court e-filing system (e.g., eCourts). Review all documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court rules before submission. Monitor confirmation receipts, court notices, and filing acceptances or rejections. Maintain accurate and organized digital filing records for all submitted documents. Communicate with attorneys and court clerks to resolve filing issues or clarify submission requirements. Track filing deadlines and ensure timely submission to avoid missed court dates or procedural violations. Stay current with changes in court rules, filing fees, and jurisdictional e-filing procedures. Assist with drafting or revising documents for filing, if needed. Calendaring:
Maintain an up-to-date and accurate court calendar for all ongoing legal matters. Schedule and track court appearances, hearings, filing deadlines, and case milestones. Monitor court dockets and legal filings for new dates, continuances, and procedural updates. Coordinate with in-house attorneys, per diem attorneys, court clerks, and opposing counsel to confirm scheduling details. Provide regular reminders and status updates to attorneys and property managers regarding upcoming deadlines. Enter court dates and deadlines into shared calendars. Ensure timely filing of documents in accordance with court deadlines and procedural rules. Assist with rescheduling or calendar adjustments when conflicts or changes arise. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information at all times. Reporting & Auditing:
Prepare eviction-related reports for Operational leadership and Attorneys. Conduct regular internal audits to identify accounts that should be subject to eviction proceedings. Regularly review per diem invoices for accuracy and timely payment. Additional Duties:

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training, preferably within the property management industry. Legal eviction experience preferred. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to multifamily property management and the eviction process. Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Yardi and eCourts preferred. Salary range: $70,000-$80,000/yr
