Job Description
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager, on behalf of our client, who will oversee the materials value stream, from procurement to finished product, ensuring quality parts on time, at the best cost, and is responsible for leading and implementing Lean materials practices and initiatives.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years working as a Supply Chain Manager or similar role in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
Knowledgeable in Lean manufacturing practices and materials systems.
Familiarity with supply chain management principles.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management systems.
Experience in purchasing, inventory control, and warehousing.
Ability to coach and motivate employees.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or Business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Identify and source materials ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement material plans based on production schedules and forecasts. Implement and manage a Lean materials system including Supermarkets, Kanban, PFEP, and Point-of-use storage and distribution. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships. Maintain accurate inventory levels. Work with Product Engineering on new and revised parts, including identifying sources and acquiring prototypes. Address material issues and implement solutions to improve flow. Monitor, analyze, and improve material costs and supplier performance. Develop and implement material management policies and procedures. Prepare and analyze reports on material costs, inventory levels, and supplier performance. Manage the materials team, including sourcing, buying, and shop floor material distribution.
