Regulatory Compliance Specialist - Nutrition at Mrieux NutriSciences - North America. Location: Chicago, IL. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist for Nutrition Labeling provides nutrition labeling compliance services to food & beverage manufacturers, retail, import/export and restaurant customers. The specialist ensures that nutrition and menu labeling is carried out in accordance with federal and provincial guidelines. Knowledge of ESHA Genesis is required to assist in implementing process improvements as the customer base grows. Your day-to-day life

Your Mission Will Be To: Lead nutrition labeling projects; ensure compliance with applicable nutrition and menu labeling regulations; develop and implement nutrition facts labels, ingredient statements and allergen declarations for clients in the US, Canada and other jurisdictions as required; act as team expert for ESHA Genesis and incorporate best practices; communicate cross-functionally on labeling issues; stay current on regulations and industry trends; train and mentor colleagues; support department initiatives, including process improvements and marketing-related activities. Review, interpret and evaluate food labels, nutrition labels, ingredient statements and allergen declarations for regulatory compliance. Develop nutrition facts labels and ingredient statements for menu labeling clients in the US, Canada and other countries as needed. Provide technical information to customers regarding nutrition labeling. Address emerging regulatory issues related to nutrition and menu labeling; ensure services meet evolving regulations. Serve as team expert for ESHA Genesis; evaluate and incorporate best practices into department processes. Cross-functional communication on current and emerging nutrition labeling issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nutrition and menu labeling regulations; attend webinars/conferences and complete industry training as required. Engage with sales, customers and regulatory management in meetings and calls. Develop, improve and maintain policies and procedures for nutrition and menu labeling. Train and mentor Regulatory Compliance Specialists; oversee training and provide feedback as needed. Contribute to cross-functional regulatory projects; assist with supplement facts review or creation as needed. Support marketing strategies related to Nutrition and Menu labeling topics. Other regulatory/labeling services upon request. Knowledge
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related field. 510 years of related experience in Food Regulatory Compliance or Labeling. Registered Dietitian (RD). Super User of ESHA Genesis software. Knowledge of analytical chemistry testing relevant to nutrition label compliance. Menu labeling experience. Required Skills
Strong knowledge of US and Canadian nutrition and menu labeling regulations (FDA, USDA, Health Canada); DSHEA knowledge a plus. Understanding of kitchen/restaurant practices, product development and manufacturing processes. Good understanding of food safety and allergens. Ability to manage multiple projects; strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal skills; team-oriented; problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google apps; strong computer skills. Proficient in ESHA Genesis; knowledge of US/Canadian Nutrition Facts for retail and menu labeling. Comfortable working remotely on a virtual team. Management
This position has no direct reports. It falls under the Labeling Compliance & Nutrition Services business unit and interacts with leadership including a Director and Managers. Work Environment
The position primarily works in an office environment; extended sitting is required. Periodic lifting up to 50 lbs and some travel may be required. Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Range: $75,000 $90,000 annual salary. Potential bonus up to 3% based on performance. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a generous vacation package in line with state/local ordinances. Why join us?
