About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership and vision for the human resources function in alignment with the institution's mission, values, and goals. The successful candidate will oversee all HR aspects, including policy development, recruitment and retention, classification and compensation, benefits administration, performance management, and employee and labor relations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that HR strategies and practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements and support a diverse and inclusive college community. The Executive Director will also be responsible for team leadership, administration, and program development, and will serve as the chief HR advisor, advocating for inclusive policies that advance equity and belonging.
Applicants must have a Master's degree or higher, a minimum of 10 years' of relevant experience, with at least 5 years' at a leadership level, and a proven record of effective interaction with stakeholders. Knowledge of federal and state HR legislation and experience in strategic HR management are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in higher education, particularly in working with unions and collective bargaining, and familiarity with faculty personnel processes. A HR certification and a Juris Doctorate are preferred. The role requires a leader who can foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and who is adept at managing a team to meet the institution's HR objectives.
