About the Role
The Company is seeking a CEO/President to lead its Chamber of Commerce. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic vision, organizational leadership, and operational and fiscal oversight of the Chamber and its 501(c)(3) foundation. This role requires a minimum of ten years of executive leadership experience, with a background in business development, fundraising, public advocacy, or strategic planning. The CEO/President will serve as the voice of the Chamber, advocating on community issues, and will be expected to maintain a strong public presence with exceptional communication skills. A key aspect of the position is to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization, using strong financial acumen to manage budgets and evaluate the return on investment of activities.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success, a high level of curiosity, and creativity in problem-solving, and a commitment to professional excellence. They should be adept at fostering trust-based relationships, both internally and with a wide variety of stakeholders. The role also involves leading a diverse and inclusive team, managing performance evaluations, and developing systems to promote accountability. A Bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. Familiarity with the local business community and decision-makers is a plus. The CEO/President will be expected to bring a strategic mindset, use data to inform decisions, and be proactive in addressing the organization's needs with an energetic, collaborative approach.
