About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned IT Systems Admin / Engineer with expertise in Windows-based environments, Active Directory, Networking, Virtualization, Desktop Support, and Cybersecurity. This role supports clients in highly regulated industries such as Federal Government, Financial Services, Utilities & Energy.
Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain secure Windows-based infrastructure across client environments. • Manage and optimize Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and domain trusts. • Configure and troubleshoot networking components (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs). • Deploy and manage virtualization platforms. • Provide support for desktop, server, and network issues for both customers and internal stakeholders • Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls, including endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability management. • Collaborate with and support the Compliance Officer in preparation for and administration of both customer-led compliance audits and internal audit activity. • Document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports. • Experienced in M365 / O365 Administration • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications • 7 - 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles supporting secure environments. • Deep knowledge of Active Directory architecture and troubleshooting. • Extensive experience in network design, configuration, and diagnostics. • Proven expertise in virtualization technologies and resource optimization. • Strong background in desktop and server support in enterprise settings. • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat mitigation. • Experience working in or supporting regulated industries (Federal, Financial, Utilities). • Excellent documentation and communication skills. • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications • Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, Network+, CCNA, VMware VCP. • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST, Zero Trust, CMMC • Active Security Clearance preferred • Experience with Active Directory, Hyper-V, Citrix, Trend Micro, SIEM
