Description

We are seeking a Tier 2 NOC & Project Technician with strong networking experience to join our team at our Kennesaw, GA office, supporting a nationwide customer base. This position blends Tier 2 support with hands-on involvement in IT infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on LAN/WAN design, network troubleshooting, and firewall configuration. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of networking technologies and protocols, alongside systems engineering expertise in virtualization, desktop/server support, and Microsoft platforms.

Responsibilities:

Provide Tier 2 support for networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls), virtualization platforms, servers, and desktops Remediate client tickets, adhering to defined processes and service-level expectations Perform server support, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks Collaborate with project management on IT projects, including network infrastructure deployments, firewall/VPN rollouts, system migrations, and upgrades Communicate proactively with team members, management, project management, and clients to ensure issues are clearly documented, prioritized, and resolved Maintain accountability for client issues through resolution, including proper escalation or hand-off when necessary Ensure client satisfaction through prompt and professional service Participate in local travel assignments to support multiple customer locations as needed Requirements

Strong experience managing routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies Hands-on experience with Cisco, SonicWall, WatchGuard, and Meraki Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, NAT, and routing protocols Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT support and engineering experience in an MSP or similar environment High-level experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2012 (and newer), including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, RRAS, and RDP roles and services Strong experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, including Windows 10, 8.x, 7, and XP Understanding of IT security concepts, including NTFS file security and share permissions Experience with Microsoft Office, Office 365, and related business productivity tools Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and hosted Exchange providers (Intermedia, RackSpace) Experience with internet carrier technologies such as DSL and PRI Hands-on experience with hardware vendors such as HP, Dell, IBM, and Lenovo, including component-level repair of servers, workstations, printers, and business peripherals Exceptional customer service orientation and communication skills Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent networking credentials are strongly preferred Additional Requirements:

Local travel assignments required to support multiple customer locations Experience working in an MSP environment is a plus Drug- and alcohol-free workplace; non-smoking office and grounds Criminal background check, E-Verify citizenship check, and motor vehicle report required prior to employment

Salary Description

$75,000 - $85,000
