The Christian and Missionary Alliance, Lexington, Kentucky, us, 40598
We have several small, rural churches in Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky that are each in need of a pastor.
Responsibilities: • Lead services and deliver sermons and Bible studies • Provide pastoral care, including visitations, counseling, and support for church members and their families • Coordinate and oversee programs for all age groups • Provide for community outreach • Administer and perform ceremonies (e.g., baptisms, weddings, funerals) • Seek to foster unity and cooperation among the different churches and communities • Manage administrative tasks, finances, and facility upkeep.
Qualifications: • Ministry and theological training • Licensed by the C&MA or willing to become licensed • Ordained by the C&MA or willing to become ordained • Strong relational, shepherding skills • Strong preaching skills • Ability to relate to and understand rural community dynamics
Personal Qualities: • Deep spiritual commitment and strong moral character • Adaptability and flexibility in serving a rural, Appalachian context • Strong biblical foundation and values • Spirit-dependent walk with the Lord • Empathy and compassion for rural community needs • Energy and enthusiasm for shepherding the flock
Each opening is bi-vocational (the pastor will need an income source beyond the church). Each church provides a house and covers utilities. Age is not an issue. Married or single: either is acceptable
