Overview


Our client is seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support our growing transportation operations in Arizona. This is a hands-on, early career HR position where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring compliance, supporting onboarding, and engaging directly with drivers and staff as we launch and scale a newly awarded long-term contract.


This role is 100% onsite and will be central to creating a smooth experience for employees and leadership during a pivotal time of growth. You’ll work closely with local leadership and visiting teams in a dynamic environment where adaptability and initiative are key.


Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite)


Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (with potential overtime during initial launch period)


Reports to: Regional Director of Operations



Base pay range


$18.00/hr - $22.00/hr



Key Responsibilities



  • Support new hire onboarding including I-9 verification, new hire packets, e-Verify, and Workday navigation

  • Assist with recruitment activities, primarily hiring and screening drivers

  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and safety standards

  • Handle day-to-day HR generalist tasks, including benefits questions, data entry, and employee file audits (driver licenses, certifications, etc.)

  • Act as a resource for employees with questions on HR systems, policies, or processes

  • Partner with managers to ensure compliance with HR and operational requirements

  • Engage directly with drivers and staff, offering approachable and solutions-oriented support



What We’re Looking For



  • 1–2 years of HR experience (coordinator, assistant, or generalist-level work)

  • Experience with I-9 verification and onboarding processes

  • Familiarity with Workday or other HRIS systems preferred

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel required)

  • Knowledge of e-Verify, and HR compliance standards preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with both leadership and frontline employees

  • Ability to take initiative, push back when needed, and support compliance while remaining approachable
