We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team and collaborate with technical leads, scrum masters, product owners, and other stakeholders. This individual will play a key role in supporting the development and integration of systems for marketing and selling seats to interline customers. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the airline industry, particularly with E-Tickets (ETKT) and Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMD). This role will involve understanding business requirements, explaining business expectations, and helping design key features in a dynamic environment. The candidate will act as a conduit between the business and technical teams, ensuring successful implementation and ongoing support of system features and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow product owners and analysts, ensuring the success of the team.
Represent the EMD team in cross-team meetings, project design discussions, and troubleshooting sessions.
Act as a liaison between the technical team and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
Gather, refine, and translate business requirements into actionable user stories.
Work closely with developers to ensure the accurate implementation of business specifications.
Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders, ensuring transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with technical developers and other teams to implement solutions for Interline Paid Seats.
Support the software development team by explaining business needs, reviewing system designs, and ensuring that development efforts align with business expectations.
Assist with system documentation, including technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
Participate actively in agile and scrum processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
Stay updated with industry trends and continue to grow technical and professional skills.
Encourage team empowerment, feedback, and experimentation to improve team processes and behaviors.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst role.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong experience with Airline Industry technologies such as EMD, PNR, and ETKTs.
Extensive experience with Interline EMDs and ETKTs.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with PSS systems such as SHARES, Amadeus, or Sabre.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
Problem Solving & Independence:
Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work under defined constraints and meet deadlines.
Teamwork & Feedback:
Support team empowerment, a sense of shared ownership, and a proactive attitude towards feedback and improvement.
Reliability:
Reliable and punctual attendance is essential.
Hybrid Work Model:
Ability to work in a hybrid work model, with physical attendance required at Chicago or Houston office every week.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
AWS or other Cloud Certifications are a plus.
Familiarity with Confluence, LucidChart, and querying MySQL.
Analytical & Agile Experience:
Exposure to Data Analytics.
Familiarity with agile principles and experience working with agile coaches or scrum masters.
Industry Exposure:
Familiarity with payment processing systems.
