Shop Manager

to oversee the operations of our shop and equipment yard. Position Summary

The Shop Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, organization, and daily operation of the shop and equipment fleet. This includes overseeing repairs and preventive maintenance for landscaping equipment and vehicles, managing inventory and supplies, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day shop operations, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and tool management Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on landscaping equipment, trucks, trailers, and small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; order materials as needed and maintain organized stock levels Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safety and functionality Coordinate with field crews to fulfill equipment and tool needs efficiently Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies Hire, train, and supervise shop assistants or mechanics (if applicable) Provide hands-on mechanical support when needed Monitor shop budget and seek cost-effective solutions Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in landscaping, construction, or fleet management Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping tools, small engines, and light vehicles Proven experience in managing inventory and procurement Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently Excellent organizational and communication skills Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and equipment compliance Valid driver’s license (DOT a plus) High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification preferred)
