Position Summary We are seeking a visionary, hands-on Vice President of Business Development to lead our entry and scale-up in the ground-source geothermal market. This role is ideal for a leader who understands both the technical and commercial value of ground loop systems and can drive market penetration through strategic partnerships, project origination, and relationship-building across real estate, institutional, IPPs, development and utility sectors. You will work closely with the geothermal operations team to convert opportunities into delivered projects, helping Louth Callan become a go-to partner for energy-efficient, low-carbon geothermal infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Go-to-Market Strategy & Origination

Develop and execute Louth Callan’s business development strategy for geothermal ground loop systems across commercial buildings, schools, campuses, hospitals, and municipalities.

Develop and execute Louth Callan’s business development strategy for securing EPC contracts for enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) across developers and asset owners.

Identify and qualify opportunities in both new construction and retrofit markets.

Target and build relationships with developers, architects, mechanical contractors, property owners, and energy service companies (ESCOs).

Partnership & Channel Development

Forge strategic alliances with HVAC design firms, real estate investment groups, utilities, IPPs and government agencies.

Pursue anchor clients for multi-site programs (e.g., school districts, university systems, military bases).

Evaluate and develop channel strategies including public-private partnerships (P3), turnkey EPC, and ESCO models.

Commercial Structuring

Lead negotiations for long-term service agreements, lease models, or thermal energy supply contracts.

Collaborate with internal teams on pricing strategies, value engineering, and proposal generation.

Work with the finance team to structure viable project models, including PACE financing, IRA incentives, utility rebates, or green bonds.

Pipeline & Sales Enablement

Maintain a dynamic project pipeline through CRM systems and reporting dashboards.

Guide pre-sales efforts including site qualification, conceptual design, and proposal scoping.

Represent Louth Callan at industry events, sustainability forums, and client workshops.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Systems, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

8–10+ years of experience in energy infrastructure business development, with at least 3 years in ground-source geothermal, HVAC, or distributed thermal systems.

Strong network in commercial real estate, institutional facilities, or energy services sectors.

Familiarity with ground loop technologies, heat pumps, thermal energy networks, and lifecycle cost modeling.

Experience securing deals involving public funding, tax credits, or energy performance contracts is a major plus.

Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and deal-closing skills.

Comfortable traveling up to 30% for client meetings, project assessments, and industry events.
