The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is a member-based nonprofit organization whose purpose is to support, enhance and spark economic vitality. With a 75 year legacy of leadership in serving the business communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, and Diablo, we are dedicated to strengthening the local economy, promoting and connecting the community, providing quality networking opportunities, and engaging in political action. The Role
Are you a creative organizer, people-person, and community-builder looking to make a big impact? The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is hiring an Events Manager to lead our most celebrated community events and engage with our vibrant business membership. From planning iconic events like the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree to growing our educational efforts, this role is for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants their work to directly shape the local economy and culture. What You'll Do
Own the planning and execution of events—from our annual gala to beer and wine strolls to holiday celebrations—managing everything from timelines to budgets to on-site logistics. Collaborate with the Chamber President, Board, Ambassadors, and Town of Danville to deliver exceptional and meaningful experiences. Manage vendor relationships and help secure sponsorships. Manage members, sponsors, and organization’s expectations with clear and persuasive communication. Develop marketing strategies and marketing materials (digital and print) to reach different audiences. Lead volunteers and bring fresh energy to our community gatherings. Proactively benchmark against external events to identify best practices and look for creative strategies for improvement. Who You Are
A highly organized multitasker who can juggle deadlines, logistics, and community relationships. A creative thinker who’s not afraid to take initiative and try new ideas. A warm communicator who can build trust, inspire volunteers, and motivate local businesses. Someone who thrives working independently but values collaboration and shared goals. What You Bring
2–3 years of event planning, marketing, or community engagement experience (internships or volunteer work count!). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfort with tools like Canva, Constant Contact, Microsoft Office, and social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn). Familiarity with CRMs or willingness to learn. Bonus: experience working with small businesses, nonprofits, or chambers. What You’ll Love
