Position's key area of focus will be negotiation of contracts that are primarily medical device categories but may also include categories in other S2 eligible areas. This leader is recognized as an expert negotiator and team-leader with established customer trust. Individual has broad expertise in principles of negotiation and has demonstrated thorough understanding of contract terms and conditions. Individual has the ability to independently think through problems, identify risks, and devise appropriate solutions in high pressure situations. Individual must be proficient in mitigating business/contractual risk, identifying cost savings opportunities, and adept at identifying new areas for contracting. Individual interprets complex internal or external business issues and takes a broad perspective in identifying and executing solutions. Responsibilities
Independently develop custom contracting work-plans and execute project timelines.
Demonstrate organizational ability and attention to detail.
Translate objectives into project planning priorities, manage work plans and timelines for multiple projects, and finalize negotiations within designated timeframes.
Maintain high efficiency and productivity, handling a high volume of contracts/categories without sacrificing quality.
Recognized as an expert in contracting across multiple disciplines (e.g., nursing, surgery, capital, medical devices, non-clinical).
Thorough knowledge of product features, benefits, comparisons, operational impact, future product pipeline, FDA 510k filings, cost drivers, and market information.
Develop strategies using supplier knowledge to create leverage, mitigate risks, and anticipate market and supplier directions.
Develop contract strategies, formulate clear visions, and articulate steps to achieve negotiation objectives.
Lead and direct team members to accomplish strategic directions.
Work closely with members (clinicians, physicians, executives) to develop strategies aligning with their needs and group purchasing organization objectives.
Thorough understanding and accountability for the sourcing process, including market research, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development & validation, RFP, contract negotiations, and contract launch.
Present and validate category strategies and final awards with the governance structure defined with the member.
Represent HealthTrust at industry events and organizational projects with suppliers and customers.
Facilitate project kick-off conversations, communicate bid processes, negotiation statuses, and resolve member-specific issues.
Interface with key supply chain executives and other stakeholders to gain commitment and support.
Collaborate regularly with senior supply chain/clinical teams, market supply chain/clinical leaders, and local teams of the member.
Work with internal HealthTrust teams throughout the sourcing process, including legal staff, financial analysts, contract analysts, communications, and the Enterprise Account team.
Develop action plans for current local and custom agreements to find pricing parity and maintain contracts.
Communicate changes to member stakeholders and manage the impact on member operations.
What qualifications you will need: Accredited College Bachelor's Degree required (Supply Chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance), required.
7+ years of relevant work experience required. Ideal candidate will have experience in strategic sourcing and negotiating complex contracts in various spend segments specific to the healthcare industry, required.
Candidate must have proven track-record of achieving results and managing equivalent or similar responsibilities
Candidate must have proven experience in guiding individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standard and delivering quality work.
Occasional Travel: The job may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis
