$130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Insight Global A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Director of Quality Assurance to lead their testing organization through a critical transformation from basic hardware/firmware testing to comprehensive integrated systems quality assurance. This role will establish mature testing processes, implement industry best practices, and build a scalable system test framework covering hardware, software, firmware, and end-to-end integrated systems testing. Qualifications

8+ years of QA/testing experience, including 4+ years in management roles Proven success in building system test organizations from early-stage maturity Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Led testing across hardware, software, firmware, and systems domains Strong background in process development and organizational transformation Technical Expertise

Deep understanding of testing methodologies for hardware, software, and firmware Hands-on with test automation frameworks and scripting (Python) Proficient in Jira for project management, defect tracking, and workflow automation Experienced with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices Familiar with functional, performance, security, and hardware validation tools Methodological Knowledge

Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Agile testing practices Skilled in risk-based and exploratory testing Able to define test requirements from undocumented design outputs Knowledgeable in quality standards and regulatory requirements for integrated systems Understanding of software and hardware development lifecycles Implemented AI tools in testing environments Knowledge of machine learning applications in QA Familiar with AI-powered test generation and optimization tools Experienced in using data analytics for quality metrics and insights Responsibilities

Designed and implemented system test processes for HW/SW/FW/Systems Developed test outcomes aligned with program gates and product standards Maintained documentation: test strategies, procedures, and quality metrics Created cross-functional workflows integrating hardware, software, and firmware validation Applied risk-based testing to optimize coverage and resources Established defect management processes and quality KPIs Monitored and maintained quality across all products Identified tools for product/feature intake and issue triage Performed FMEA to reduce field issues and minimize recalls Team Leadership & Strategic Planning

Built and led diverse system test teams across technical domains Developed career paths and training programs for HW/SW/FW engineers Collaborated with engineering, product, and operations to align quality goals Drove continuous improvement and testing process optimization Managed team budget and resource planning Technical Implementation & Automation

Designed and executed test automation strategies across product layers Led development of automated scripts for HW, SW, and FW validation Established CI/CD pipelines with integrated automated testing Implemented test data management and environment strategies Oversaw selection and deployment of testing tools and frameworks Adapted system test processes for Agile/Scrum workflows Implemented shift-left and continuous testing practices Facilitated sprint planning, retrospectives, and quality ceremonies Defined “Definition of Done” and quality standards within Agile Coached teams on Agile testing and cross-functional collaboration Leveraged AI for test case generation, data creation, and defect prediction Applied AI-driven test optimization and intelligent test selection Explored ML for anomaly detection in testing Used AI for result analysis, pattern recognition, and quality insights Stayed current with emerging AI tools in QA This position is 3 days per week onsite in Boulder, CO. The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 annually.
