Grocery Shop For or With a Senior in Waukesha County!
ERAs Senior Network, Inc., Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States, 53188
Volunteers are needed to help seniors and adults with disabilities with their grocery shopping. Volunteers can either shop for or shop with a client. Dates and times can be arranged directly with clients based on mutual availability. Clients prepare their shopping lists ahead of time, and volunteers will shop for those who cannot get out, or accompany those who can do their shopping but need a little assistance. Volunteers assist in bringing groceries into the home, and helping to put the groceries away. This service is very flexible and you can usually fit it into your schedule at any time: before or after work, when you do your own shopping, or even on the weekends.
COVID Volunteer Safety and Health Policy
Volunteers grocery shopping for or delivering groceries to Eras clients are asked to follow CDC guidelines to help reduce the spread of illness. Volunteers are required to wear a mask while serving, per the Wisconsin statewide mask mandate. Eras Senior Network is happy to provide face masks and hand sanitizer to volunteers. Volunteers are asked to deliver groceries to the client’s porch and are asked to refrain from physical contact with the client. If a client is physically unable to carry their groceries into the house, the volunteer may carry them in if they feel comfortable doing so. In this situation, we request that volunteers wear their face mask and maintain a distance of at least six feet from the client. We request that all volunteers refrain from serving if they exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms including cough, difficulty breathing, fever, loss of taste or smell, and upset stomach, or have been in close contact with someone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the last 14 days. Volunteers should also refrain from serving if they have had a fever over 100.4 within the last 72 hours.
