Job Title: HR Generalist

Position Overview:

The HR Generalist will support ~100 employees at our manufacturing site in Leesburg, AL and will play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of human resources with a primary focus on payroll and benefits administration, staffing, and employee relations. This individual will work closely with the HR team and other departments to ensure compliance, support employee growth, and foster a positive work environment. This position reports to the onsite Compliance & Administration Manager and may work closely with the Global HR Director on key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration:

  • Process and manage weekly and semi-monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll and tax regulations.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to reconcile payroll data.

Staffing:

  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection process for all production and maintenance positions, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate the onboarding process.

Training and Learning & Development:

  • Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and seminars, both internally and externally.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support career development initiatives and succession planning efforts.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist in administering employee benefits programs and open enrollment processes.
  • Handle employee relations issues professionally and confidentially, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in HR roles, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations.
  • Experience with payroll administration, preferably utilizing Ceridian Dayforce HRIS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Experience in recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
