Smith Industries is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role will support a wide range of HR functions, including onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations, while helping streamline HR processes and improve employee experiences across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for onboarding and offboarding processes, including all aspects of new hire documentation, orientation, and benefits enrollment.
- Assist with recruitment efforts, job postings, interview scheduling, and pre-employment checks.
- Administer employee benefits programs and support open enrollment activities.
- Review timecards, payroll data, and ensure accurate weekly and monthly reporting.
- Prepares weekly payroll, properly tracking PTO and deduction updates.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, including I-9 documentation.
- Support performance reviews, employee relations, and disciplinary processes.
- Perform regular HRIS data audits and support HR process improvements.
- Maintain organizational charts and HR records in both digital and physical formats.
- Provide general HR support and assist with special projects as needed.
- Performs other HR duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR administration, payroll, or benefits coordination preferred.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with attention to detail.
