Software Safety Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Software Safety Engineer to join us on the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) System Safety team in Tewksbury, MA. As a Software Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Analysis of engineering software, and/or firmware, IAW MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, etc. Work with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code. Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds. Assist with Software and/or Firmware analyses. Participate in the execution of the Software System Safety Program Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors) Assist with preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval Assist with software safety technical reviews. Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design. Qualifications you must have: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) Experience with Computer Science, Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering. This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships). The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. This position requires ability to obtain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
