Overview
2026 Raytheon Systems Security Engineer I - Onsite - Massachusetts Location: MA131: Tewksbury, MA Bldg 1 Assabet 50 Apple Hill Drive Assabet - Building 1, Tewksbury, MA, 01876 USA. This is an onsite role based in Massachusetts (Tewksbury, Woburn, or Marlborough). U.S. Citizenship and active and transferable U.S. government security clearance is required prior to start date. DoD Clearance: Secret. Security Clearance: DoD Secret. This position requires security clearance. More information about security clearances is available from the U.S. Department of State and related DoD processes. What You Will Do Support the development of cybersecurity / anti-tamper requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies. Define security development and test efforts and implement security controls for networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components. Understand and integrate cybersecurity development activities. Perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results. Conduct technical and nontechnical trade studies. Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets using DoD-approved tools (e.g., ACAS, STIG, SCAP, HBSS). Apply written and oral communication skills and participate in system design and development.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with majors such as Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Robotics, or related field. Applied engineering experience or coursework with exposure in one or more domains: Systems Engineering, Software/Firmware development, Systems Integration and/or Test, ASIC development, Cybersecurity, System Security, Digital Electronics design, or related work history. Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications We Prefer
Cybersecurity or Program Protection experience and related coursework. GPA 3.0 or higher (cumulative). Experience with secure systems for military applications, including knowledge of program protection concepts, reverse engineering tools, failure analysis, and cryptography. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of design, electrical, mechanical, software, and logistics engineers. Technical briefs or presentations and strong written/verbal communication skills. Matlab and/or C++ experience; Modeling and Simulation; Model-based systems engineering. Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle and the DoD customer infrastructure (C2, telemetry, flight test, ISR).
