We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Invoicing & Accounts Receivable: Generate and issue invoices; apply payments; manage collections; maintain accurate aging reports.
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, match POs, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
- Journal Entries: Post both recurring and non-recurring entries; ensure general ledger accuracy with supporting documentation.
- Reconciliations: Conduct monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare and file sales tax returns and respond to inquiries; assist with state and federal tax filings; track deadlines and ensure timely compliance.
- Schedules & Reporting: Develop month-end and year-end supporting schedules; generate ad hoc reports for management and auditors.
- Banking & Treasury: Manage online banking operations and monitor daily cash flows.
- ERP System Management: Utilize Acumatica, QuickBooks, and/or SAP to record, track, and report financial data.
- Excel Analytics: Leverage advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) for reconciliations, tax tracking, and variance analysis.
- Compliance & Controls: Uphold company accounting policies, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
- Support audits, process improvement initiatives, and special finance projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Staff Accountant or similar role ideally in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Acumatica and/or SAP, etc..).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools; VLOOKUP and pivot tables, experience with data analysis is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
