Import And Export Documentation Specialist
LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Import and Export Documentation Specialist to manage international logistics documentation and ensure compliance with global shipping regulations. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our client's import/export operations and will be based onsite in Portland, Oregon. Job Title: Import and Export Documentation Specialist Location: Onsite Portland, Oregon Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Pay Rate: $28 $35 per hour DOE Duration: Direct Hire Benefits: Company pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees AND spouse and children. 2 weeks of PTO + holidays and floating holiday. PTO increases over time. Company paid short and long-term disability plans 401K match of 6% Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and manage all import and export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant shipments. Track and monitor international shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delays or discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of all shipping documentation and transactions. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies. Support audits and reporting requirements related to import/export activities. Utilize advanced Excel functions to manage logistics data, generate reports, and analyze trends. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in import and export documentation. Strong understanding of international shipping procedures and regulatory requirements. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High School Diploma or equivalent required; furthering education is a strong plus. Bilingual is not required but also a strong plus, especially in Spanish or Mandarin.
