Position Overview
The
Technical Specialist, Platform Architecture
will join the TRATON Group R&D Systems Architecture team in Lisle, Illinois, which defines the vehicle network, functional, and communication architectures across all TRATON Group vehicles. This role is responsible for defining the electrical/electronic (EE) architecture, including functional allocation, message definitions, module I/O allocation, and providing system-level technical support.

Technical Specialist on our

R&D Team.
Responsibilities
Development and documentation of CAN, Ethernet and/or LIN messaging constructs Creation and maintenance of vehicle network topologies Management of device I/O Problem solving and implementing solutions to hardware and control software issues Work in a team and contribute to the continuous improvement activities through participation in Lean projects, technical knowledge capture, process improvements etc. Mentor less experienced engineers Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experience At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Experience with Vehicle Communications and Network topology management CAN and SAE J1939 development and message construction CAN and SAE J1939 debugging experience Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, MS Visio experience Experience with/knowledge of Automotive Ethernet or LIN communications Significant experience and knowledge of power architecture Experience with requirement documentation and system engineering Experience with Vehicle Control System design Experience with engineering and quality design and development methodologies: (8D, FMEA, DVP&R) Embedded hardware design and development experience CAN and/or J1939 development and debugging experience beneficial Experience with EMC/RFI performance and testing beneficial Action Oriented Dealing with Ambiguity Drive for Results Problem Solving Time Management Building Effective Teams
