Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the accounting department by ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable and payable, revenue recognition, and expense recognition. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in accounting who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support revenue and expense recognition activities
• Prepare and process accounts receivable invoices and apply incoming payments
• Maintain ongoing vendor account information and files
• Monitor and reconcile customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
• Respond to inquiries from carriers regarding payments
• Reconcile and post carrier payment batches to AP and AR sub ledger as well as create AP check/EFT batches
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Assist with bank/financial audits
• Process expense reports for employees
• Support financial reporting and analysis as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A) in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or 1-2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting processes (AR, AP, GL) and payroll
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) and 10-key
• Detailed, accurate, and productive
• Regular attendance
