Position: General Accountant

Location: Hoboken, NJ (Hybrid – remote flexibility but must reside locally)

Type: Contract

Salary: $32/hr to $35/hr

Summary:

Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS/technology company, is seeking a General Accountant to join their Finance team. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and has hands-on expertise with NetSuite, Coupa, and Expensify. The General Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting activities, including billing, collections, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage billing, collections, and accounts receivable processes.
• Review invoices and expenses for proper GL coding, documentation, and approvals.
• Process accounts payable, corporate credit cards, and employee reimbursements through Expensify.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, including bank accounts, fixed assets, sub-accounts, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and annual audits.
• Participate in special accounting projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience within a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
• Strong knowledge of NetSuite, Coupa, and Expensify.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with foreign currency translation is a plus.
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented with strong initiative and accountability.

Preferred

• CPA certification
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
