Overview

Pearson Center, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Primary Job Function

Performs electrical maintenance work in a large institutional setting. Tasks may vary from replacing ballasts to setting electrical poles. The employee typically works alone with limited supervision and may work various shifts as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of high energy discharged ballasts and bucket truck work.
  • Knowledge of programmable electric service panels.
  • Computer and software programs within the district.
  • Positive customer service; ability to multitask and stay organized.

Education and Certification

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D.
  • Journeyman electrician; completed apprentice program.
  • Knowledge of national and local electrical codes; City of Toledo journeyman electrician license required.
  • Knowledge, training, certification, and work ethic to perform duties of maintenance electrician in a large institutional setting.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to drive service vehicle and meet Toledo Public Schools vehicle insurance criteria.
  • Must pass Toledo Public Schools physical and personality testing.
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience as journeyman electrician; experience in electrical maintenance in a large institutional setting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with high energy discharged ballasts and bucket truck work; programmable electric service panels.

Driving Requirement

This role requires driving; employees who drive TPS vehicles for work-related business must have written annual authorization. Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet TPS vehicle insurance criteria.
