Position
The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative Electrician II (Region Maintenance Electrician), to be a part of the Coastal Regional Maintenance Team. This position reports to the Raleigh Area Satellite Yard in Raleigh, NC and will be tasked with completing electrical preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account electrical system replacements.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in the installation of primary and secondary electrical conduit and circuitry for electrical distribution systems.
- Demonstrated experience with standard testing equipment to diagnose electrical components.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) standards.
- Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC09. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
Possible Licensure: Depending on the job duties, licensure may be required.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read blueprints and interpret plans with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments.

Work Schedule and Benefits
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization. Salary adjustments effective January 1, 2025: the new salary range will be $39,671.00 - $69,426.00.
