Responsibilities

Leadership:
  • As a key member of the Plant Management Team, contribute at an operational level by providing value in all areas of Human Resources
  • Support business strategy through end to end HR solutions and delivery of corporate initiatives, ensuring a high level of teammate engagement and commitment
  • Participate as part of the plant/site leadership team and advise the Plant Manager
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations and enforce Company policies
  • Provide coaching and guidance on complex employee relations issues to improve performance
  • Network with Local HR to benchmark best practices and understand local trends
  • Partner with the business to identify HR and organizational development issues and lead analysis of client needs
  • Design and reinforce site-specific HR policies aligned with vision, mission, values, and regulatory requirements
  • Track and analyze HR metrics and develop improvement plans
Labor Management & Employee Relations
  • Provide leadership to create a constructive labor/management environment
  • Complete mandate process and advise on union contract renewals where applicable
  • Represent management in employee relations and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Apply labor practices consistently to resolve issues professionally
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Implement HS&E standards assigned by the senior site manager
  • Manage teammate injury claims and return to work processes
  • Report HS&E statistics and maintain records
  • Advocate for responsible health, safety, and environmental management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures
  • Act as liaison for regulatory visits/inspections
  • Be accountable for HS&E goals/objectives
  • Assist with revisions of HS&E procedures
Training & Development
  • Develop training matrices/plans based on needs and IATF 16949 requirements
  • Deliver in-house training as required by regulations or compliance
  • Coordinate with corporate Talent & Organizational Development
Recruitment & Selection
  • Facilitate screening, testing, interviewing, and selection for all positions
  • Maintain applicant pools in compliance with regulatory boards (incl. EEOC)
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires and transfers
Performance And Talent Management
  • Guide management to ensure performance supports plant effectiveness
  • Administer and oversee Woodbridge Performance Management and Development System
  • Deploy talent management tools to identify high potentials and develop plans
Total Rewards
  • Maintain understanding of regional salary, wage and benefit trends
  • Support Corporate Total Rewards programs for consistent delivery
  • Oversee Total Rewards enrollment, records, and communications via HRIS
  • Provide feedback to Corporate on benefit program quality and service
Engagement/WPS/Communication
  • Develop and execute action plans with plant leaders and provide guidance on feedback and best practices
  • Foster effective two-way communication across all teammates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; Professional HR designation preferred
  • Five or more years in a similar manufacturing HR role (automotive desirable)
  • Experience in a unionized environment; contract administration and grievance handling
  • Solid understanding of HR management with ability to influence at multiple levels
  • Experience in a matrix global organization with strong business acumen
  • Payroll and HRIS knowledge is a plus
  • Willingness to learn technical concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and training ability
